Decadent Fudgy Brownies
There are about a bazillion brownie recipes out there, and I have tried a number of them. For me there are two types: cake-like or fudgy. I prefer decadent fudgy brownies, and this recipe never fails me in that regard. This recipe only has 7 ingredients, and could not be any simpler. It actually may be my favorite of all my baking recipes, and is a great base to add upon (m&m brownies, Mississippi mud brownies etc).
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup flour (add more if you do not want it as fudgy)
1/2 teaspoon salt (omit if using salted butter)
*powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.
Place the butter and unsweetened chocolate in a 4 quart saucepan over low heat. Stirring until butter and chocolate are melted.
Remove from heat stir in sugar, vanilla and eggs.
Add flour and salt. You may also stir in some semi sweet chocolate chips if wanted.
Bake 20-25 minutes. Do not over bake. Dust with powdered sugar.
