Pumpkin Pie Moonshine

As the cold weather takes hold, and the hustle and bustle of the holidays draws near.  I need a nice holiday libation to sip by the fire on those cold nights.  This drink is perfect for doing just that.  Make a big batch, and give as gifts.  Or to bring to those holiday parties ahead, and spread the good cheer.  I admittedly, am not really much of a drinker and do not find much pleasure in most alcoholic beverages, but this stuff is awesome. Ever since my little brother introduced me to apple pie moonshine on a Thanksgiving several years ago.  I’m hooked, and I now look forward to it every year.

This recipe was born of my anticipation for the holidays, and all things pumpkin.  I was thinking one day recently about holiday crafts, and foods I wanted to make for this years holiday season, and whether I wanted to make apple pie moonshine again or not.  Then it hit me, (why not pumpkin, instead of apple)? I promptly decided that would be exactly what I would do.  And here we have it, pumpkin pie moonshine to warm our long winter nights.

Ingredients:                 Yield:3 quarts

1/2 gallon good quality apple cider

1 -1/2 cups Everclear

1 cup pure pumpkin puree

4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

 

Directions:

Place the apple cider, Everclear, pumkin, and spices in a large bowl.

Using a hand mixer, mix until combined.

Pour into 3 (1 quart) mason jars.

Note* Allow 2 days time before drinking so the flavors have sufficient time to marinate.

Make sure to shake before serving and enjoying.
